Participant Advisory Group

This group, though not trustees, inform all our decisions, enabling other participants with disabilities to constantly shape our services. We have found many of our participants living with disability and/or health challenges cannot easily undertake trustee commitment due to need for appointments, rest, paid-support-hours and other health needs, so this works well for them and therefore the charity- as it is very flexible.

Meet the Trustees below:

80% have lived-experience as carers

30% live with disabilities

50% also part of our Volunteer Cycle Pilot Team

Minimum 50% are women, always

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

AMY HELEY

Chairperson of Trustee Board

Awarded Young Councillor of the Year UK in 2021 and named in ‘Top 100 women in Cycling UK’  the same year for her contribution to local government work on active travel. Amy is a former local Councillor of Brighton & Hove Council where she chaired the Environment, Transport and Sustainability committee.  A great supporter of our work over the last few years – we actually named one of our ‘sea containers’ of our seafront base in her honour!

AMY HOLTZ

Trustee

Experienced fundraiser, copywriter and overall charity enthusiast transplanted from the US. Her weekends are for moving - often on a bike or a paddleboard - but you'll most likely find her on the sand playing beach volleyball.

BEN COFFEY

TREASURER

After a 30-year career in an airlines group, leading teams in several countries, he retired as a senior IT manager, and now hugely enjoys life by the sea. Favourite pastimes are cycling, walking, photography, seeing friends and family, and baking bagels.

EMMA HABBA

TRUSTEE

After a career in the city that saw her working from assistant all the way up to being a Trader, she’s glad to live by the sea, enjoys running, cycling and swimming (if not too chilly!) She loves sharing “Our wonderful rides out with the elder participants. I love their enthusiasm and smiles as we go along chatting to all the people around, what a fab experience!”  When not ferrying  her three children around, she can be found baking for a local foodbank charity, running a junior netball club or training for her next long run. Also has her own chief-canine Maisie (and yes, she is the boss!)
